REGION 2020: BEAUTIFICATION
WHAT
• To establish and implement a strategic regional beautification plan for
the purpose of renovating, developing, and preserving private, public,
and natural
spaces.

• To increase the sense of ownership and pride in communities.

HOW
Strategy
Empower communities to promote the protection and planting of trees,
with emphasis on native plants.
Action Steps
Region 2020 will convene a Beautification Implementation Team composed
of nonpartisan representatives of the public and private sectors
with an interest
in protecting and planting trees.
The Beautification Implementation Team will establish a non-profit
organization or partner with an existing organization to:
1. Develop a network throughout the region to locate areas that
need tree-planting activities.
2. Seek funds for tree planting and maintenance.
3. Advocate for trees in city and county projects across the
region.
