Strategy
Establish a public private partnership to fund universally accessible, affordable,
quality early childcare and education.

Action Steps
Region 2020 will convene a Family and Parenting leadership Committee
of approximately fifteen people who are fully representative
of the community and include
business leaders, educators, service providers, government leaders,
and parents.
The Family and Parenting Leadership Committee will:
1. Assess the:
• Gaps between resources available and the needs in the community
• Variety of childcare resources currently available (physical,
financial and corporate) • Availability of quality child care
• Support services available to improve quality
2. Develop collaborations, expand financial and create new
initiatives to insure quality childcare is universally accessible
and for
all children who need it.
3. Recruit an entity to lead the implementation of the initiatives.
