Board votes to name Pell City Mayor Guin Robinson
as new executive director; Mr. Robinson to begin in October
The Region 2020 board of directors voted unanimously at its annual meeting June 29 to hire Guin Robinson to lead Region 2020.
The 82-member board held its meeting at Region 2020’s offices at the Center For Regional Planning and Design, located at 1731 First Ave. N., in downtown Birmingham.
Region 2020 also thanked outgoing Executive Director Ann Florie for her work since 1997 moving the community forward.
Dr. Neal Berte, president of Birmingham-Southern College, is chair of the Board of Directors. Other members of the executive committee include Elise Penfield, Executive Director, Leadership Birmingham; Claude Nielsen, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United., and Dr. Charles Nash, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, University of Alabama System.
